Platform 2.0 - Rate Configuration
We're introducing a more intuitive and simplified rate configuration model. In the current system, you're accustomed to setting separate nightly, weekly, and monthly rates. In our new platform, you'll only need to set a base nightly rate. From there, you can easily apply discounts for longer stays. For example, if you set a discount for stays over 6 nights and a guest reserves a 10-night stay, the discount will automatically be applied to all 10 nights.
This change is designed to make your rate strategy more flexible and user-friendly, both for you and your guests. It allows for clearer communication of discounts and ensures that guests are automatically given the best available rate for their duration of stay. There are more options available, such as setting day of week rates and different seasonal rates.
We understand that this is a significant change and we're here to support you every step of the way. If you have concerns, questions, or need further discussion on how this change impacts your specific setup, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at [email protected].
Now let’s get into how the new configuration works!
Setting Up Rates
Within each Site Type the Nightly Rate is set under the “Basic Rates” section.
Edit the Site Type, click on “Rates” and then click the “Add Basic Rate” button:
The window to enter Basic Rate slides out from the right where you enter the nightly rate:
To set specific day of the week rates, click on the slide button to see fields for the day of the week rates:
You can click the “Fill with night rate” option to assign the Basic rate to all days to quickly fill in rates and then change the ones that are different.
Under the “Seasons & Rates” section, the default basic rate will show as “Rest of the year.” You can expand to see the day of week rates.
Duration Discounts: Setting Discounts for Longer Stays
If you discount your regular nightly rate when a guest stays over a certain number of nights, such as a weekly or monthly rate, you can set up Duration Discounts.
When in Rates for the Site Type, click the “Add Duration Discount” button in the Duration Discounts section:
The window to set a discount will open on the right. Enter the number of nights that the discount will apply to starting from the night after the number of nights you specify.
For example, if you want to offer a discount for stays a week or longer, enter “6” in the “More Than” field. This indicates that for any reservations longer than 6 nights, the discount will be applied to all nights of the stay.
With the following configuration, someone who books a week will get a 10% discount on the nightly rate set. If a guest books 30 nights, they will get a 15% discount. If you have different nightly rates, the discount is applied to the individual nightly rate within the date range.
Seasons
You can set a different nightly rate during various time periods that will be applied. This is used when you have different rates for holidays and/or peak season versus low season and other periods where you have different rates.
To add a season, click the “Add New Season” button. The window will open on the right where you enter the season’s name, select the dates and enter the Night Rate for this period. You may also set specific rates for each day of the week.
Once you save, the season will be listed under the Seasons & Rates section.
First release vs quick follow future releases:
As we push to release 2.0, we are working towards having all the needed features but will need to have phased releases to get the new platform out and start to get feedback.
In future releases we will add the options to either not discount during the season or have a different discount to apply during the season. If you are set up to do this, you will be moved over to the new platform later.
We are reviewing everyone's configuration and will reach out when we are ready for you to move to the new platform. Again, if you have any questions or want clarification on the rate set up, please reach out at [email protected] and we can review it with you.
