Platform 2.0 - Creating and Managing Custom Discounts

You can create custom discounts to offer guests percentage or flat-rate savings on products or reservations. This is a great way to offer promos like senior discounts.

Toggling exclusivity and global settings helps you control how discounts combine or apply.

đź’ˇ Discount Types and What They Do

  • Product Discount: Applies to inventory items sold in Orders or added onto a Reservation.
  • Reservation Discount: Applies to a guest’s reservation nightly rate.

🛠️ How to Create a Discount

Go to Campground Settings and click Discounts:

You will land on the Discounts list page:

To view and/or edit an existing Discount, click on the Discount Name and it will open the window on the right.

To add a new discount, click the "New Discount +" button. This opens the Discount window from the right.

  • Enter a Name for your discount (e.g., "Stay 3 Nights, Get 20% Off"). This will show on guest's reservations and invoices when applied.
  • Select Exclusivity for rules of how to apply this discount with other discounts. See below for detailed explanation of the Exclusivity options.
  • Choose a Class. There are two types of discount classes to choose from, Product and Reservation. Classes are used to determine what the discount applies to on a Reservation or Order since not all discounts can apply to the entire total.
    • Product Class discounts only apply to inventory items. Only percentage discounts are available.
    • Reservation Class discounts only apply to the nightly reservation fee and will have more options available to set. You can choose percentage or flat amount. When you select Reservation class, you have additional options to configure if needed:
      • Can be combined with Duration discount: Check this if the discount can be taken off in addition to the already discounted rate based on length of stay set up on the Site Type.
      • Discount applies for bookings with a minimum number of nights: Check this to only apply discounts after a certain number of nights booked. The Minimum number field shows where you can enter the number of nights someone must stay at a minimum for the discount to be available.
      • Apply discount for specified maximum number of nights only: Check this if the discount should only apply to a set number of nights. The Maximum number field shows where you can enter the number of nights this discount will apply to at most.

    • Enter the Discount Value (e.g., 10% or $15 off). If it is a Reservation discount, you may change the value to be either percentage or dollar amount by clicking the carrot and select what you want.

    • Toggle the Active switch if you want it live right away.
    • 🔥 Finally and most importantly, click Save!
