📖 What This Report Shows

When you open the Revenue and Taxes Report, you’ll see a Top-Level Summary of your earnings based on real transactions during the selected date range. Here’s what each section means:

General Totals

  • Gross Revenue: Total revenue received by summing payments and deducting refunds. Taxes and fees are included in this amount.
  • Net Revenue: Gross Revenue minus Stripe fees and Taxes for the payments received and any refunds made.
  • Estimated Taxes Total: Combined total amount of all tax types collected.
  • Total Payments: Sum of all payments collected.
  • Stripe Fee: Fees deducted by Stripe for processing payments collected through Stripe integration (typed in Credit Card, Debit Card processing as well as the Stripe link or Stripe Terminal).
  • Refunds: Amount refunded to guests.

⚠️ If your campground migrated from the old platform, the original booking fees does show in the revenue. Since you did not actually collect this fee, it should not be counted as your revenue when you are filing. We will happily send you how much you need to deduct for these fees. Be sure to reach out to ask for these and the time period you need and we will get this for you. This is not an issue for any transactions after migrating.

Estimated Taxes & Fees

If you’ve configured taxes or fees on your Site Types or Inventory Items, this section will show a breakdown of the total amounts collected or refunded only for those reservations or orders where a payment and/or refund were applied to these taxes or fees apply. Each tax or fee type will appear separately with its corresponding total for the selected date range.

🧾 Refund Handling:

If a payment was refunded on a reservation or order during the selected date range, the associated taxes or fees originally collected on that transaction will be reversed. This helps ensure the report only shows the amount of taxes and fees that are still expected to be paid after accounting for any refunds.

💡Taxes and fees are based on what you have configured, for example: Lodging Tax, Sales Tax, GST, Booking Fee, Property Fee, etc.

⚠️ Keep in mind: If you have set up a "Property Fee" or "Booking Fee," they are considered part of taxes and fees here, even though they’re not government-mandated due to how they are set up. You will want to add these back into taxable revenue if you are required to pay taxes on that revenue.

⚠️ Since all tax figures in this report are estimates based on configured rules, they should be verified against your actual accounting records when preparing filings.

Payment Methods

Breakdown of payment methods for transactions during selected date range:

  • Stripe: Payments and refunds processed through Stripe.
  • Cash: Payments and refunds taken in-person in cash.
  • Taken offline: Payments and refunds manually marked as received offline (check, direct deposit, etc.).

💡 A little about the making of the sausage! To help with continued performance, reporting data is held in separate tables aside from the main tables you are transacting with minute to minute. Reporting data is synced every 10 minutes to a separate set of tables specifically for reporting. For this reason, you will see a delay from the moment you take a payment and it shows in the report. This is normal and allows you to pull larger date ranges and have quick results.
