How to Structure the Sites Spreadsheet
As a campground enters into the implementation phase with the Good Sam Booking platform, another crucial part of the process is getting their sites, site types, and rates uploaded into the system and structured correctly. Campgrounds' and RV Parks' rate structure can vary dramatically and we want to be as mindful of that as possible as we get them set up in the system and accepting online reservations. To expedite the set-up process, we use a two-page spread sheet to set up their rate structure - the first tab is used to set all of the different rates they use and the site types they apply to, while the second tab is used to set all of the different specifications for their individual sites.
One thing I like to define is what we mean when we say "site type" - a "site type" in our system, is defined as any group of individual sites that has a different rate than another group of individual sites.
- For example, say you have a campground with 10 sites - 5 are full hook-up for $50/night, while the other 5 are unserviced for $25/night. This will be shown as two different site types.
Another thing to keep in mind when looking at the spreadsheet set up - no individual sites should be listed on the first tab. All individual sites will be accounted for on the second tab where we will be able to apply individual site specifics to each one.
