Platform 2.0 - Check Out a Reservation

When a guest finishes their stay, you’ll want to check out their reservation. This marks the reservation as complete and removes it from your active guest list.


To check out a guest, you must find their reservation first. There are various ways to find a reservation.

    • Look at Dashboard at the day and find the site the guest is assigned to. Click on the reservation to pull up the card and then click the "Reservation Details" button.
    • Go to Reservations and search for the guest's reservation. Click to view this article on how to search Reservations.
    • Pull the Check-Out Report for the day and click on the reservation for the guest.


Once you are in the Reservation, the "Check-Out" button on the lower right of the reservation screen:


You will be prompted to confirm you want to check out the guest's reservation. Click to Confirm Check-Out:


Once checked out, the status changes to CHECKED-OUT, the Dashboard shows the reservation as Finished and you can only take a couple of actions on the reservation:




Reverse a Check-Out


You may find you need to reverse the check out on a reservation. This could be due to checking out the wrong reservation or needing to change something on the reservation.


To reverse the check in, edit the reservation and click Make Changes to find the "Uncheck-Out" option:


You'll be prompted to confirm you want to take the action. Click to confirm and the reservation will be in the previous state.


💡 Questions and Tips


What happens when a reservation is checked out?

  • The reservation status updates to Finished.
  • The guest is no longer considered “on site.”

Why can't I check out a reservation?

  • You cannot check out a reservation until the check out date. If a guest leaves early, edit the reservation to change the check out date. If you do not want to refund anything to the guest, you may add a cancel fee when editing the reservation.
  • You cannot check out a reservation until the guest has paid in full. If there is a remaining balance due that you don't want to charge the guest for, you may want to add a discount to adjust the balance. This doesn't always work exactly so please reach out to us with specific cases if you want help.
