2.0: How To Create a Site Type

In this article you will learn how to create Site Types for your campground.

A Site Type is the category the campsite belongs to, such as RV, Lodge, or Tent. It defines the general setup and features the site will have.

Instructions:

First, go to Campground Settings, then select Site Types & Sites. This will open the main page where all your site types are listed. To create a new site type, click the green Add Type + button located at the top right of your screen.

After clicking Add Type +, you will be taken to the New Site Type page where you can enter the Type Name, choose the Campsite Kind, set the Check-In and Check-Out times, and add a brief description of the site type.

Here is where you can choose which taxes and fees apply to this site type. Use the dropdown menu to select the ones you want. You can follow this guide on on how to set up your taxes.

On the same New Site Type page, you can also set up Guest Limits & Extra Fees. Here, you will define the free limit for each category (Adults, Kids, Pets, and Vehicles), which is the number allowed without any extra charge. If you want to charge for additional guests beyond the free limit, enter the amount in the Extra Payment field and set it per night. You can also adjust the Maximum Limit for each category to control how many are allowed in total.

The image below is a continuation of the same page.

At the top, you can enter the maximum RV length the site can accommodate, the overhead clearance for height restrictions, and the type of parking available, such as pull-through or back-in. You can also specify if the site supports RV slide-outs on the passenger side, driver side, or both. The electrical section allows you to indicate which power hookups are offered, including 15A, 20A, 30A, or 50A service. In the hookups section, you can check if water and sewer connections are available. Click here to adjust how amenities are displayed in the guest portal.

Note: There’s an option to upload photos of the site or common areas, with the first photo serving as the preview image. Photos must be in JPG, JPEG, or PNG format, under 5 MB, and ideally in a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Once all the details are entered, you can click “Continue” to move forward or “Cancel” to discard any changes.

Once you click the green continue button, you will be taken to the next page. Here is where you set the basic nightly rate for a new site type. On the left, you click the green Add Basic Rate button to open the rate settings panel on the right. In the panel, you can enter the Night Rate in dollars.

If needed, you can set special rates for specific days of the week by toggling Days of the week (Overrides nightly rate).

Here you can turn on Minimum stay (nights) to set the fewest nights guests can book for that season. When you’re done, click Create to save or Cancel to go back.

After adding the basic rate, you’ll be taken to this screen where you can review the nightly, weekly, and monthly rates you’ve set.

This section shows the Basic Rates for the site type. It lists the main prices that guests will see, factoring in any discounts you’ve set.

In this example, the rates are $15.00 per night, $105.00 per week (7 nights), and $450.00 per month (30 nights). These rates apply unless you’ve created seasonal rates.

Here is where you can add the duration discount. Click here for instructions on how to create a duration discount.

Click Add Duration Discount and enter the number of nights a guest must stay to get a lower price. Then, type the discount percentage you want to give.

Once you save the duration discount, it will appear under Duration Discounts showing the percentage off and the required number of nights.

The next step would be to set your seasonal rates.

Now for this step you can set different prices for certain times of the year, called Seasons. To learn how to apply seasons click here.

The next step would be to create a site for your site type.

When you select “Yes, Create”, you’ll be taken to the New Site page or you can create the site late by selecting no thanks.
