How to Create a Long Term Stay Reservation

You can create a reservation for long term stays by manually booking the reservation on the manager portal on behalf of the customer. Manual reservations allow you to override certain booking restrictions, while guests using the guest portal do not have the ability to bypass those settings.

Creating a long term reservation requires a few more steps than creating a short term reservation. This is to ensure your long term guests can receive the discounted long term rate while still occupying the dashboard correctly and still charging the correct nightly rate for your short term guests.

First, you will create an inventory item titled "Long Term Stay" with the correct price that you would like to charge for your long term reservations. Click here to learn how to create a new inventory item.

Next, you will create a 100% discount titled "Long Term Stay" or "Waive Nightly Rate" that will waive the nightly rate. Click here to learn how to create a new discount.

Once both of these items have been created, you are now ready to begin creating your long term reservation.

Note: These items will remain in your settings and do not need to be recreated with each new long term reservation.

While creating the reservation, select the reservation dates, enter guest/rig information, and select the site assignment as usual. When you reach the "Add-ons" portion of the booking process, you will select the "Long Term Stay" inventory item and add it to the reservation:

The reservation total is not accurate yet, but you will click "Save & Continue".

Once you have saved and continued, you can view and edit the Draft reservation. Scroll down to the "Discount" section of the reservation and click "Add discount":

Select the 100% discount and apply it to the reservation:

This discount will remove the nightly rate from the reservation while leaving the correct "Long Term Stay" price, including taxes and fees, and dates on the invoice:

Now that the "Long Term Stay" inventory item and 100% discount have been added, you can take payment and complete the reservation as normal.
